Cooperation of Community Waste Power Plant Project in Chiang Mai Province on behalf of Chiang Mai Waste to Energy Company Limited (CM WTE) , together with All West to Energy Company Limited (ALL WTE) which is a subsidiary of Gulf Renewable Energy Co., Ltd. (Gulf Renewable Energy) and received the rights from the Chiang Mai Provincial Administrative Organization. (Chiang Mai Provincial Administration Organization) in the management of the solid waste management system. It is a very small power plant (VSPP) located in Doi Saket District. Chiang Mai Province with an installed capacity of not less than 9.5 megawatts to support the amount of waste at least 650 tons per day from Chiang Mai Provincial Administrative Organization
There are two revenues from waste disposal services through sorting and landfilling and income from the sale of electricity to the Provincial Electricity Authority (PEA). The project plans to start construction of the power plant after signing a power purchase agreement with PEA. It is expected that it will take approximately 3 years to complete the construction.
In this regard, the investment in the community waste power plant project is a project that helps reduce the problem of acquiring additional landfill ponds in Chiang Mai. It is also a response to the government’s policy that wants to move towards clean energy and to be in line with government policies and the global energy direction with the goal of reducing greenhouse gas emissions to counter the negative impacts of climate change
